60 Years of Washington State Ferries Service

I love making a ferry ride part of an extended bike route. The views of the Puget Sound from the top of the ferry are hard to beat.

This year the Washington State Ferries are celebrating 60 years of service. They're part of what makes the Puget Sound region so unique and bike friendly. They allow folks to commute by bike from the various islands like Bainbridge and Vashon, and they make it easy to head out on amazing weekend rides with just your bike.

This weekend they're going to get 950+ cyclists over to Lopez Island on the San Juans for the Tour de Lopez . Of course every February,  thousands head over to Bainbridge on the ferry for the Chilly Hilly

Our love of the trips and rides we've taken on the Washington State Ferries inspired us to design our Pacific Northwest Cycling Jersey featuring Mt. Rainier and a Washington State ferry. The design captures a bit of why we're proud to call the Puget Sound region home.
